Tools Needed: Phillips head screwdriver (optional – power screwdriver), Tweezers, Prying tool

Removing the old LCD screen

First you have to remove are the two screw covers (blue arrows in picture below) at the bottom left and right of the screen assembly. Use tweezers to remove the covers, and then a philips head screwdriver to remove the two screws underneath. Next, use your fingers to carefully lift up the bezel. Work your way around separating the bezel from the screen assembly.

Once the bezel is removed, there are 4 screws (at blue arrows below) that hold in the screen brackets that need to be taken out. The hinges are attached to a brackets that are attached to the screen, so the hinge and brackets will come out with the screen once the screws are removed. Don’t separate the screen too far yet as there is a cable attached to the back.

Gently flip the screen over and on the back at the bottom you will find a gold connector attached to the screen. Loosen the tape covering the connector and disconnect it.

Installing your new LCD screen

Re-attach the brackets to your new LCD screen replacing all 6 screws. Then, with your new screens back facing up, reconnect the gold connector and refasten the tape covering it. Then put the screen back into its place making sure it fits correctly. Make sure the wires are routed correctly around the screen.

Then retrieve the plastic bezel and situate it properly on the screen with the cables coming out the inside of the hinge covers as seen in the second picture below. Finally, run your hands along the edges of the screen, snapping the bezel back into place as you go. Make sure the wires come out the inside hole in the screen hinges as shown in the picture below.
